Mali Garnet

Mali garnet is a natural variety of garnet belonging to the silicate group, resulting from a blend of grossular garnet and andradite garnet. It stands out for its warm, luminous colours, ranging from yellow-green to golden green, sometimes with brown or champagne nuances.

Its chemical composition is intermediate between Ca₃Al₂(SiO₄)₃ (grossular) and Ca₃Fe₂(SiO₄)₃ (andradite). Its cubic crystal structure gives it a hardness of between 6.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale, with good resistance to abrasion.

Valued for its high brilliance, its often remarkable transparency and its unique golden tones, Mali garnet is a rare and sought-after stone in jewellery. It retains its lustre and physical properties over time, even with daily wear.
